Children’s Shoe Brand Aim to Help Rebuild Supply of Baby Gear for Non-Profit Organization
April 1, 2020, Vancouver, British Columbia: Jack & Lily, a leading shoe brand for babies, infants and toddlers, announced recently their effort to help support BabyGoRound, a local non-profit organization.
BabyGoRound provides families in need with essential baby items they would otherwise not have access to. Because of COVID-19, many of the families they serve are faced with unprecedented uncertainty and instability. While they are unable to collect used donations at this time due to COVID-19, they have a growing waitlist of families that will be in need of baby gear, clothing and supplies.
As BabyGoRound’s supply has been completely disrupted, they do not have the gear they need to help families. To help rebuild their supply, the Jack & Lily team will be donating 100 pairs of baby shoes to BabyGoRound.
In addition to the 100 pairs, Jack & Lily is hoping to multiply that donation through their “One-for-One” online shopping event from April 7 to April 10. For every pair sold during that time, they will donate an additional pair to BabyGoRound.
“We started Jack & Lily over 15 years ago because of our children. And as parents-first, the well-being and safety of our family is priority and that extends to our community,” says Jack & Lily owner Brenda Buell. “We have been working to find how to best support pandemic relief efforts within our community and one of the ways will include directing our resources to support BabyGoRound and the families that they serve.”

BabyGoRound was founded by Jennifer Randall Nelson and first opened its facility doors in October 2012. As a mother of three, Jennifer was looking for a place to donate her gently used items so other mothers and children could enjoy the same experience she had when first having children. Unfortunately, there was no such place, and it was then the idea for BabyGoRound was born: a place where Jennifer and a host of other families could pass on gently used items that could really benefit families in our community and give back to those who may need it the most – new mothers with newborn babies and children aged 0-4 years. Even though March is already here, it’s never too late for you to create new resolutions, especially if it helps the fam bond more. Who says you can only make family resolutions at the start of the year? We rounded up a handful of easy to follow and fun ways to keep your family connected to each other:
- Start a weekly family ritual
Pick a day in a week when every family member can be present. For many families, Saturday nights or Sunday mornings work the best. Schedule a fun, weekly activity like a movie marathon, game night, or any other activity that everyone will enjoy.
- Skip work and school (just once!)
Many families don’t get quality time together during the weekends because those days are packed with events and household chores. So why not take a vacation day from work, dismiss your kid from school and have a family day on a weekday? Make that day memorable for both you and your kids, by letting the kids choose what they want to do.
- Volunteer with your kids
Helping your local community is meaningful and even more so when you do it with your loved ones. This can be a great opportunity for you and your kids to be exposed to causes and understand the value of working together and helping others. Help foster kindness, connectedness, and empathy while giving back.
- Disconnect to connect
Make it a rule in your home to unplug from devices at least once a week. Everyone must participate, including parents. This can be combined with your weekly ritual or a separate day of the week.
- Eat together
Get your kids involved in the kitchen! From something as small as setting the table or even helping cook meals, having them involved teaches them kitchen and food skills and the importance of healthy eating.
